Warriors Weekly: Golden State Keeps Rolling In Historic Fashion

The Golden State Warriors may have fallen out of the national spotlight a bit in the post-streak dog days of January, but those who've stopped paying attention are missing some historic hardwood action. Here's our Warriors Weekly for 1/10/15-1/16/15.

The Week That Was

Just a few days ago, Warriors Nation was holding its breath over the status of Stephen Curry's lower left leg. A contusion left Curry hobbled and caused him to miss a game for the first time this season, causing plenty of panic. However, after he dropped 38 points on the second end of a back-to-back in the team's 128-116 road win over Sacramento on Saturday, it's safe to say that Dubs fans can relax just a bit.

Following up a 128-108 road win over Portland on Friday where Klay Thompson scored 36, making seven 3-pointers in the process, Curry carried the offensive load on Saturday -- hitting eight threes to lead the Warriors to a sixth straight victory. He dazzled all night long in front of a distinctly pro-Warriors crowd in Sacramento, pushing Golden State to 35-2 on the season.

What's Next?

The Warriors 35-2 record through 37 games is the best in NBA history, outpacing the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls who finished 72-10 for the top season-season mark in NBA history. If Golden State was to keep this pace, they'd finish an astounding 77-5 -- five games clear of Jordan's Bulls.

Golden State will look to keep the good times rolling this week, alternating home and road games over the next seven days. The Miami Heat come to Oracle Arena on Monday for a marquee West/East showdown, before the team travels to face a fading Nuggets team in Denver on Wednesday.

The Warriors will head back to Oakland for the second game of a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, before starting a three-game East Coast road trip in Detroit on Saturday.

Injuries

James Michael McAdoo is still feeling the effects of a toe injury and was a DNP in the team's win over the Kings.

Stephen Curry is now wearing a shin guard to protect his lower left leg. As you can tell from his big-time game on Saturday, it's not hampering him.
