The Golden State Warriors are 65-7, with 10 games left to play. If they team can go 8-2 (or better) the rest of the way, they'll set the NBA record for most wins in a season. The Warriors have won three straight after a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, and look to continue that with a win tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Let's get caught up with the week that was and preview the coming games with our Warriors Weekly.
Last Week:
The Warriors started the week with a 109-104 road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday. The win was a needed bounce back after a poor offensive showing against the Spurs. It was a close game, with Draymond Green leading the way. He had 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks. Stephen Curry had an off night, with just 19 points and was just 2 of 9 from 3-point range. He did add 11 assists.
Back at home Wednesday, the Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 114-98. The Splash Brothers found their form in a big way. Curry had 33 points and Klay Thompson added 32. Green added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
With a 128-120 win over the Dallas Mavericks, the Warriors became the second team with back-to-back 65 win seasons. Curry again had 33 points, adding eight rebounds and four assists. Thompson dropped 40 and hit nine 3-pointers. Green had another double-double, posting 19 points and 10 assists. Despite the win, Golden State was not happy with its defense.
This Week:
The Warriors play again tonight, as they host the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers are one of the worst teams in the NBA, but the Warriors can't fall asleep against them. A win would boost the Warriors' home record to 34-0.
Golden State is off until Tuesday, when the Washington Wizards come to town. The Wizards have hit a bit of a rough patch in recent weeks and will be fighting for their playoff lives. The night after playing Washington, the Warriors hit the road to face the Utah Jazz. Utah is clinging to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
The Warriors end the week with a pair of home games. They face the Boston Celtics Friday and the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday.
Injuries:
Andre Iguodala is doubtful for Sunday's game with an ankle injury. He could return this week.
