The Golden State Warriors are trying to improve their bench unit before the NBA Trade Deadline, and they called the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this week about potentially acquiring Avery Bradley.
However, they were quickly shut down, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.
The Warriors are trying to beef up their bench given wobbly play from Andre Iguodala, Patrick McCaw, Omri Casspi, and Nick Young. They inquired about Avery Bradley, but got nowhere, league sources say. That’s not surprising; the Warriors have little to deal beyond minimum-salaried players, second-round picks starting in 2020, and first-rounders they obviously won’t flip for bench guys.
Golden State has not been happy about the inconsistent production of both Young and Casspi, causing them to look to make a change.

The Clippers acquired Bradley from the Detroit Pistons in the Blake Griffin trade, but with him set to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Los Angeles is trying to flip him for a draft pick.
Bradley is averaging 14.8 points per game this season.
Golden State has also been "dangling" both centers Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee on the trade market in hopes of upgrading their backup center position. They are targeting New York Knicks big man Kyle O'Quinn in that regard, who they feel can give them more defensive versatility.
