The Golden State Warriors landed the number two pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have been linked to players like LaMelo Ball, James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards, but many believe the Warriors may trade that pick for an established veteran. Jimmy Crowther breaks down five players the Golden State Warriors could trade for using the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is going to be a free agent in 2021. If the Milwaukee Bucks do not build a championship contender around their MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, he could force a trade to the Golden State Warriors. Imagine the Warriors building around Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Another NBA star that could be on the move for a top-3 draft pick would be Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons. Joel Embiid could be the perfect fifth piece of the starting five for the Golden State Warriors, but Ben Simmons could also be a good piece as an oversized point guard. Ben Simmons, who can’t shoot, would benefit from playing with elite shooters like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge are two veteran big men that might be more realistic targets for the Golden State Warriors around draft time. Both Aldridge and Love have faced injuries all throughout their careers, but they could benefit from a change of scenery with the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins could see a lot of success with a veteran big man in the middle like Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge.
5 Warriors Trade Targets:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Ben Simmons
Joel Embiid
Kevin Love
LaMarcus Aldridge
