Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested for assault while in East Lansing, MI over the weekend, according to MLive.com:
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green -- the former Michigan State star and member of this summer's United States Olympic men's basketball team -- was arrested for assault Sunday in East Lansing, MLive learned Monday.
The details of Green's arrest are unknown at this time.
"The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name," said Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer. "What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That's all we're confirming right now."
Green has 10 days to return to East Lansing and be arraigned on the charge in the city's attorney office. His arrest report is not yet available online.
Green is coming off the best season of his four years in the NBA, averaging career highs of 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game while being named an All-Star for the first time last season.
He played a vital role in helping the Warriors to their historic 73-9 regular season record, but ran into some trouble in the playoffs. He was involved in two major incidents, one where he kicked Thunder center Steven Adams in the groin, and another where he hit LeBron James in the same area. The latter got him suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
