Warriors Rumors: D’Angelo Russell Slow Start, GSW Signing A Center? Alfonzo McKinnie Getting Cut?

Golden State Warriors news is headlined by the Warriors 123-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. The first preseason game of the year for the Warriors saw them open up the new Chase Center against the new look Lakers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis proved to be too much to handle. On today’s NBA Now, Thomas Mott will discuss D’Angelo Russel’s struggles, Warriors rumored on signing a center and Alfonzo McKinnie possibly getting cut.

The Warriors problems at center were highlighted during the preseason debut with Willie Cauley-Stein, Kevon Looney and rookie Alen Smailagic all injured. Omari Spellman got the start at center, but it is evident just how thin Golden State is at the Center position. Recent reports say the Warriors have brought in Hasheem Thabeet, former #2 overall pick, despite him not playing in the league since 2013. 

IN THE VIDEO ABOVE, D’Angelo Russell played in his first game as a Warrior over the weekend however it was not a good start for the new guard. Russell struggled shooting and said after the game that he has a long way to go before he feels comfortable in this system.
