After three blowout games to start the NBA Finals, we finally got a close game - and the Golden State Warriors had the legs to outlast the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs controlled the pace of the game throughout much of the first half, yet the Warriors were able to reel off two big runs in the second half to secure the 108-97 victory. It is Cleveland's first home loss of the postseason (13-1), and Golden State now leads the series 3-1.
Neither team was able to gain an advantage in the first half as there were 15 lead changes before the break - more than there were in the first three games combined. Cleveland led 55-50 at the intermission and built an eight-point lead at the start of the third quarter, but it was all Golden State from that point on.
The Warriors reeled off a 26-12 run to capture a six-point lead before the end of the quarter, and while the Cavs did briefly take a two-point lead at the start of the fourth, Golden State responded with a 15-3 run to take control for good.
Stephen Curry broke out of his slump with a game-high 38 points (including seven three-pointers) to go along with six assists. Klay Thompson also added 25 points, while Harrison Barnes chipped in 14 points and eight assists.
Kyrie Irving led the way for the Cavs with 34 points. LeBron James nearly put up a triple-double with 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, but turned the ball over seven times.
Golden State can clinch the championship in Game 5 at home on Monday. Tip off is set for 9:00 pm ET on ABC.
