The Golden State Warriors (47-4) are currently riding a ten-game winning streak, but they'll be put to the test in what amounts to a seven-game road trip -- albeit an interrupted seven-game swing.
Can Golden State keep its record pace and keep its sights locked on a #1 overall playoff seed? Do the Warriors have enough in the tank to go better than 25-6 in their final 31 games and unseat the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the best record in NBA history (72-10)?
We dig into all of that in more in our Warriors Notebook for January 10th.

The Warriors officially close out the "first half" of the 2015-16 NBA season with a trip to the Valley of the Sun and a date with the Phoenix Suns (14-39) on Wednesday. Phoenix is currently in the midst of one of the worst swoons in franchise history -- losing eight straight, 14 of 15, and 23 of 25 overall.
Phoenix's offense has been clicking at a pace just below league average from a production standpoint, but it's their defense which has been their downfall over the past month and a half. The Suns have given up 100 points or more in 19 of their last 25 games, forcing them to play catch-up with limited offensive firepower at their disposal. All of this seems to point to a laugher on Wednesday -- especially with Golden State riding a ten-game streak with 108 points scored or more.
Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson will head to Toronto for this weekend's All-Star festivities, but it's the work after the break which is piquing our interest. Golden State opens the second half with six road games, including key stops in Los Angeles (Clippers), Atlanta, Miami and Oklahoma City. If the Warriors tiptoe that minefield and notch five or six wins, 73-9 or better feels like a foregone conclusion.
News & Notes
Head coach Steve Kerr isn't back to 100% health despite his return to the bench, per CSN Bay Area.
Kevin Durant may not be a likely fit for the Warriors in free agency, muses FanSided's Garrett Hagan.
Durant, however, has done his "due diligence" scouting out the Bay Area as a potential future home.
Center Festus Ezeli will miss at least six weeks after knee surgery, per multiple media reports.
Stat Of The Day
Golden State is about to hit the road for a long stretch, but it's the team's home dominance which has us buzzing.
Take a look at these three stats from the team's active 42-game home winning streak, courtesy of ESPN Stats & Info:
Days Since Last Loss: 375
Average Margin Of Victory: 14.4
Steph Curry PPG: 25.5
This goes beyond impressive. It's historic and daffy, in the best kind of way.
