The Golden State Warriors are now 23-0 after handing the Indiana Pacers their third straight loss Tuesday night. The Warriors were up by 28 at the end of the third quarter and by as much as 32. The Pacers cut the lead to nine with 1:18 to play, but it was too little, too late.
The Warriors held on for a 131-123 win. The Pacers are now 12-8 this season. The Warriors' win is their 27th straight, dating back to last season. It's tied for second-most in NBA history. Their road win gave them the most to start a season in history.
Klay Thompson continued his strong play of late, dropping 39 points for the Warriors. He hit 10 of 15 shots from beyond the arc and added seven rebounds and six assists. The bulk of his damage came in the first three quarters and he had 29 in the first half. The Warriors' starters sat out most of the fourth, before a Pacers' rally forced them back into action.
It was game full of three-pointers, as the teams combined to hit 30 of 69 threes.
Stephen Curry had 25 for the Warriors and added 10 assists. Andrew Bogut added 14 points and 10 boards.
Paul George led the way for the Pacers, racking up 33 points, eight rebounds and six assists. C.J. Miles added 24 points and hit five threes.
It was clear early that the Warriors were sharp, as they scored an absurd 44 points in the first quarter. The Warriors will look to improve to 24-0 Friday night when they visit the Boston Celtics. The Pacers try to snap their losing streak when they host the Miami Heat Friday.
