The Golden State Warriors are hoping to have head coach Steve Kerr back for their season opener on Oct. 27 against the New Orleans Pelicans, interim head coach Luke Walton told CSNBayArea's Monte Poole:
Luke Walton on coaching #Warriors opener: 'Still hopeful that Steve (Kerr) will be back, but I'm approaching it as if he won't be there.'

Kerr took an indefinite leave of absense on Oct. 1 to continue to recover from two offseason back surgeries.
Kerr, 50, led the Golden State Warriors to a 67-15 regular season record and an NBA championship in his first season as an NBA head coach.
