The Golden State Warriors will reportedly lose a key member of their front office. Assistant general manager Travis Schlenk is the favorite to land the Atlanta Hawks general manager position, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical.
Wojnarowski reports a deal could be complete as soon as today and that the two sides are working on a contract. Only 41 years old, he had previously been linked to the Orlando Magic GM opening, which went to the Bucks' John Hammond.
Schlenk has spent the last 12 years as a member of the Warriors' front office. Before being promoted, Schlenk spent two years as the Warriors’ director of player personnel. He has also served as an assistant coach and video scout.
He'll now head an overhauled Hawks front office. Head coach Mike Budenholzer will no longer serve as president and general manager Wes Wilcox is now a special adviser to the owner.
