It's the first game of the season Curry will miss. He missed only three all of last season.
The reigning two-time MVP is coming off one of his best performances of the season, dropping 43 points on 15-23 shooting (including 9-15 from three-point range) with nine rebounds and six assists in Golden State's 144-98 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Shaun Livingston is expected to start in Curry's place.
Portland and Golden State tip off at 9:00 pm ET on NBATV.
