The San Antonio Spurs' 34-game home winning streak is now 35 games. The Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 87-79 Saturday. The Warriors have not won in San Antonio since 1997. The Spurs have not lost at home this year.
It was a low-scoring affair, at least by the Warriors' standards. The game was tied at 65 at the half and went down to the wire. But in the end, the Warriors could not find the offense to win. It is their lowest point total this season.
Stephen Curry struggled in the loss. He was just 4 of 18 from the field and 1 of 12 from 3-point range for 14 points. Fellow splash brother Klay Thompson wasn't much better, going 7 of 20 from the field and 1 of 7 from 3-point land. He had 15 points. Draymond Green had balanced night, putting up 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Brandon Rush played a big role, putting up 10 points. The absence Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli and Andre Iguodala likely hurt the Warriors and is a big reason why Rush played 27 minutes.
Four Spurs had double-figures, but LaMarcus Aldridge led them all. He had 26 points and 13 boards. Kawhi Leonard had 18 points and 14 rebounds. Tim Duncan played just eight minutes, putting up one point and two boards.
The 62-7 Warriors finish their road swing Monday, when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 59-10 Spurs hit the road next and play the Charlotte Hornets Monday.
