OAKLAND — With six seconds remaining on Sunday night in Oracle Arena and the Warriors leading the Wizards 137-115, JaVale McGee got the ball in the corner and squared up for a 3-point attempt, instead of taking the impending shot clock violation.
Considering the situation (final seconds of a blowout win) and the shot-taker (a backup center), Wizards point guard Brandon Jennings felt it was disrespectful. So mid-shot, Jennings shoved McGee hard into the first row. The referees called a flagrant foul as the teams scowled at each other.
Right after McGee took his flagrant free throws and the Warriors prepared to inbound and run out the clock, Wizards coach Scott Brooks called a timeout, a clear message that he wasn’t happy.
