LAS VEGAS — Jabari Brown is a basketball vagabond. Within the past decade, the Oakland native has ping-ponged between three high schools, two colleges, two Development League teams, a handful of NBA cameos and two stints in China.
Much of his itinerant journey, when the instability took its toll, Brown called his father, David. It was David’s encouraging words that kept Brown focused on the ultimate objective: a lengthy NBA career.
“He’d help keep my mind in the right place,” said Brown, a shooting guard for his hometown Golden State Warriors’ Summer League team.
