Why Willie Cauley-Stein could be a long-term piece for the Warriors

SAN FRANCISCO — When the Warriors used to play the Kings, part of the scouting report spear-headed by defensive specialist Ron Adams would focus on limiting noted rim-roller Willie Cauley-Stein’s opportunities to get to the basket.

After signing Cauley-Stein, 26, to a two-year, $4.5 million contract last summer, the Warriors are learning what else the 7-footer can do, and why he can be even more valuable when the team is healthy next season.
