Why Warriors’ GM Bob Myers said Jordan Bell “fits what we hope him to be”

DENVER — Warriors general manager Bob Myers did not expect to secure the draft rights to the No. 38th pick from Chicago. Myers did, expect, though for Bell to contribute right away.

“He fits what we hope him to be,” Myers said in a recent interview with Bay Area News Group. “It’s still pretty early. He has a long way to go.”

Bell has averaged 4.9 points on 77.3 percent shooting and 2.6 rebounds in only 9.1 minutes per game, sparking off favorable impressions toward his defense, athleticism and efficiency around the rim. Myers saw the same qualities when he scouted Bell through his three seasons at the University of Oregon.
