Why Steve Kerr likened gun violence to a “public health issue”

OAKLAND — The message might sound repetitive. But that is because the United States suffering another mass shooting involving gun violence. So if he has said it already, Warriors coach Steve Kerr will say it again.

With an armed man killing a reported 26 people on Sunday at a Texas Church, Kerr likened gun violence to a “public health issue.”

“Too often, we get caught up in political rhetoric, 2nd amendment rights, NRA stuff,” Kerr said before the Warriors (7-3) hosted the Miami Heat (4-5) on Monday the Oracle. “We have to look at this as it having nothing to do with partisanship, political parties.
