Entering the Warriors' game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 7, 2016, Steph Curry had converted double-digit 3-pointers in a single game six separate times, including tying the then-NBA record of 12 on one occasion. He was also coming off his first game in nearly two full seasons without a single made 3-pointer, having shot 0-for-10 from long distance against the Los Angeles Lakers three nights earlier.
So when Curry went off for a new record of 13 treys against the Pelicans that night, Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't see it as pure coincidence. Quite the opposite, actually.
