Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf used her appearance in one of Stephen Curry’s YouTube channel episodes to clear up something about the Warriors’ impending move to San Francisco.
Her message: The spirit of the Warriors will remain in her city.
“The arena is moving to San Francisco. The team is staying in Oakland,” said Schaaf, while correcting the Warriors’ star during their carpool conversation.
Curry humbly acknowledged his misstep as he shared a laugh with Schaaf, telling his followers, “You heard it here first!”
Semantics aside, Curry promised the Oakland mayor he’ll remain entrenched in the community even when the Warriors play at Chase Center beginning in 2019.
