There is no replacing superstar Klay Thompson, but at least the Golden State Warriors have another asset to try and mitigate his loss.
The NBA granted the Dubs a $9.3 million exception because of Thompson’s injury. The Dubs have 13 of the maximum 15 rosters spots spoken for. General manager Bob Myers can either use the rest of the team’s mid-level exception or the DPE on a player who is on an expiring deal worth less than the designated amount.
Former Warrior Glenn Robinson III would have been a great option, but he signed with the Sacramento Kings.
