Just like the Warriors, the NBA watched the replays of the finals calls of the Warriors’ overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Unlike the Warriors, the NBA believes the officials made the right call on the final two plays of overtime.
The NBA’s two-minute report said that it made the correct call when official Marat Kogut ruled that Minnesota’s Keita Bates-Diop committed a foul on Kevin Durant before he released a 3-point shot that otherwise could have tied the game at 130 with 4.4 seconds left in overtime. The report stated that Bates-Diop “places two hands on Durant and makes contact with him prior to the start of his upward shooting motion.
