Adoring cheers from Warriors fans at Oracle Arena drowned out the introduction to their ensuing happy birthday song for the legendary Golden State coach.
The franchise wished a happy birthday to Attles — whose visit to the hospital overlapped with a recent Warriors’ tribute to him — on the video board at Oracle during Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Attles stood on the court (and on the screen) on Wednesday under cheers that showed reverence to the coach of the NBA championship-winning 1975 Warriors.
Last month, Steve Kerr honored Attles the night of his tribute by donning a suit in Attles’ unique style.
