MIAMI — When Warriors coach Steve Kerr was a broadcast analyst for TNT, he studied Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra’s ability to get the most out of a championship roster. Now he appreciates Spoelstra’s ability to get the most out of a team depleted of its stars.
As the Warriors entered Friday’s game in Miami with the league’s worst record, the Heat — who look like contenders in the Eastern Conference — have established a blueprint for the Warriors as they look to develop winning habits during a losing season.
“Erik was one of the guys I was drawn to, just the competitive desire that his teams played with,” Kerr said.
