Anderson Varejao was the first player in NBA history to play for both of the teams that advanced to the NBA Finals. That put him in the unique position to be assured a championship ring regardless of the outcome of that series.
Varejao is now saying that he won’t accept a championship ring from the Cavaliers, who beat the Warriors in 7 games.
Varejao was acquired by the Warriors in February after he was waived by the Portland Trail Blazers following a trade from Cleveland.
Varejao is undoubtedly confident that this Warriors squad can get him a ring next season, and that sentiment is shared by many around the league.
