The Warriors are the NBA’s third most valuable franchise, per a Forbes report published Wednesday.
The Knicks and Lakers, which checked in at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, have long been the league’s most valuable clubs. But Golden State is the fastest-rising franchise, jumping an NBA-high 37 percent to $2.6 billion.
It reflects the Warriors’ emergence as a cultural phenomenon. Since the start of the 2014-15 season, they’ve posted a 186-33 regular-season record, won an NBA title, set a league-record with 73 regular-season victories and reached two straight NBA Finals.
