WASHINGTON — Two hours after signing Jose Calderon, the Warriors announced Wednesday that they have waived the point guard.
After Kevin Durant injured his left knee in Tuesday’s loss to the Wizards, Golden State decided to use its final roster spot on Matt Barnes instead of Calderon. Signing Calderon was the Warriors’ way of honoring their verbal agreement with the Spanish national team member.
Barnes, 36, will help fill the void left on the wing with Durant sidelined at least four weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament and a bone bruise in his left leg.
