The Warriors have waived forwards Elgin Cook and Scott Wood, the team announced Sunday afternoon.
Golden State, which currently carries a roster of 18 players, will trim down to 15 the day before its regular-season opener Oct. 25. With Cook and Wood gone, four training-camp invitees are still vying for the Warriors’ 15th spot: JaVale Mcgee, Phil Pressey, Cameron Jones and Elliot Williams.
McGee, the only viable rim protector on the roster, is the front-runner. His biggest competition, Williams, underwent right knee surgery before training camp and has yet to practice with the team.
