SALT LAKE CITY — It is increasingly unlikely that Steve Kerr will return to the Warriors’ bench during the Western Conference semifinals.
Kerr did not fly with the team to Utah, leaving Mike Brown to coach Game 3 on Saturday and Game 4 on Monday. A source close to the team told The Chronicle that, even if the matchup with the Jazz lasts six or seven games, Kerr probably won’t coach in this series.
Per an ESPN report, Kerr saw a specialist at Duke University Medical Center on Friday and received treatment to alleviate the chronic pain that forced him to step away from the sideline before Game 3 of the first round.
