OAKLAND –Their quest to defend their NBA championship begins. But the Warriors are not starting with their best foot forward.
The Warriors will play without reserve forward Andre Iguodala for Tuesday’s season opener against the Houston Rockets at the Oracle because of a persisting back strain. After missing Friday’s preseason finale against Sacramento, Iguodala felt more pain after working out in the weight room over the weekend. He still practiced on Monday, but Kerr said his availability “is not something we’ll take a chance on.”
Kerr then projected Iguodala “will be fine” for the Warriors’ three-game trip with stops in New Orleans (Friday), Memphis (Saturday) and Dallas (Monday).
