While Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has never been afraid of speaking up for what he believes in, he’s essentially admitted defeat on one of his biggest opinions: shortening the length of the NBA regular season.
Kerr was the central figure in a story published by The Athletic on Sunday, the final day of the 82-game season. The league has played 82 games in all non-shortened regular seasons since 1967-68. Kerr is skeptical that the league will ever do what he wants, though, and seems to effectively blame capitalism for it.
“We should be playing fewer games,” Kerr said.
