Disgraced Phoenix Suns and Mercury owner Robert Sarver is selling his teams, finally, he announced in a whiny and self-pitying statement Wednesday. He had hoped to go on NBA-mandated ice for a year before coming back, "but in our current unforgiving climate, it has become painfully clear that that is no longer possible," he wrote.
Sarver was initially hit with a one-year suspension and $10 million fine, a relative slap on the wrist after a league investigation found him to be a a workplace bully and liberal user of the N-word, among many other things.
Warriors forward Draymond Green had a creative solution: If the other owners were so invested in protecting Sarver, they could hold a vote on whether or not he gets to stay.
