CLEVELAND — Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had a warning pregame Monday night for anyone preparing to watch Golden State’s nationally televised showdown against the Cavaliers: It means nothing.
“There’s an awareness that nothing is decided in January,” Kerr said. “Anyone who’s been in the league knows that what happens now has nothing to do with what happens in June.”
That is especially true with Cleveland. Each of the past three regular seasons, the Cavaliers have endured stretches of adversity, only to face the Warriors in the NBA Finals. The biggest reason? They have a player named LeBron James.
