The Golden State Warriors were just starting to build some long-awaited roster cohesion when, on Wednesday night, their best player went down with an injury that could keep him out until the playoffs.
In the second quarter of a 110-88 loss to the Boston Celtics, opposing guard Marcus Smart dove for a loose ball and collided with the leg and foot of Stephen Curry, who was awkwardly positioned to make a play. Curry exited the game with what was called "left foot soreness," but an ensuing MRI and reporting on Thursday morning revealed that Curry actually has a sprained ligament in his foot.
