The Warriors have gone 5-1 in potential closeout games, winning by an average of 11 points per game since the 2015 playoffs, so they’re confident heading into Wednesday’s Game 5 with a 3-1 lead over Portland.
“When you get to a closeout game, you pretty much know your opponent and vice versa,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said before Wednesday’s game. “So, it’s all about taking care of the details, limiting your mistakes and competing like crazy. We’ve got a great home crowd, so we’ve been able to finish series out the past couple of years.
