Now that the Golden State Warriors have moved on from David Lee, it appears their next main objective this offseason is to lock on Harrison Barnes to a long-term extension.
Barnes’ extension would not kick in until the 2016-17 season when the salary cap is expected to be about $90 million.
Barnes, 23, will become a restricted free agent after next season. He is still on his rookie salary and is set to make just under $4 million this season.
The 2012 first round draft pick took countless strides forward this past season and was one of the Warriors most important players during their playoff run.
