True, Monta Ellis is 33 and his legs have logged 29,011 NBA minutes. And yes, Amar’e Stoudemire is 36, an age at which most NBA alumni retire, on creaky knees, to the sets of myriad association-themed morning, pregame, halftime and postgame shows.
But Monday night’s workout was not a lark. Not for Ellis, five times a 20-plus-point scorer with the Warriors, and not for Stoudemire, six times an NBA All-Star. And certainly not for the scouts of 14 NBA teams (including the Warriors) who attended the event, according to Yahoo’s Chris Haynes.
