The Warriors took advantage of an ailing Rockets squad and broke out of their preseason funk with a 123-101 trouncing of Houston on Thursday night at Oracle Arena.
The Dubs’ domination started early, and the game was a laugher well before the first half came to a close. The Warriors shot 72 percent from the field over the first two periods, and their 48-point second quarter pushed the Dubs’ point total north of 80 points before play resumed in the third period.
Fifteen Warriors players scored, led by 19 points and six assists from Stephen Curry. The reigning MVP did all of his damage in the first half, as did Klay Thompson, who tallied 16 points in 17 minutes.
