Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant says a gameplan that got him involved early helped spur his big 38-point night against the Clippers on Thursday.
At a postgame news conference, Durant said that he didn’t want to engage in a one-on-one battle with guard Patrick Beverley; instead, he wanted to play ball. That focus led to 27 points in the first half. The all-star also complimented center Andrew Bogut for stepping in and starting after teammate DeMarcus Cousins went down.
With the blowout win, Durant could have forgotten about the historic upset in Game 2, but he reflected on it.
