As an agent, it’s never fun to lose a client. Especially when that client could potentially ink a lucrative, multi-year extension in a matter of months.
Harrison Barnes sent his agent, Jeff Wechsler, packing today, according to Chris Haynes of the Northwest Ohio Media Group. With Barnes due for an extension — the deadline is Oct. 31 — the 23-year-old forward decided he needed better representation.
Wechsler’s only other NBA client was Kyrie Irving, and Irving came close to firing him as well.
In any case, whoever Barnes hires next will have the luxury — or the stress — of negotiating a new contract for the young swingman.
