Depending on how high you were on the Warriors' draft class, the move might come as a surprise. A contingent of Warriors fans, and especially owner Joe Lacob, seemed to believe Golden State was going to get legitimate contributions from Moody (19 years old) and No. 6 overall pick Jonathan Kuminga (also 19).
"If we can kind of have a [James] Wiseman and a Kuminga and a Moody and a [Jordan] Poole (help in the meantime) — they don’t have to be awesome next year — with a great investment in our player development staff, we just want them to show great potential,” Lacob said in late July.
