Not even 24 hours removed from a crushing last-second loss to the Lakers on Christmas night, the Warriors got even more bad news Thursday morning: Miami Heat President Pat Riley seemingly killed any hope of the Warriors — or really any team — trading for superstar Jimmy Butler. The Heat organization released a statement publicly addressing the speculation and telling the NBA world that Butler isn’t going anywhere:
“We usually don’t comment on rumors, but all this speculation has become a distraction to the team and is not fair to the players and coaches,” Riley said in the statement.
