Warriors' Mike Brown has some concern over Klay Thompson's long layoff

There's a chance that the 2020-21 NBA season is not played in 2020 whatsoever.

Based on recent national reports, the league could decide that starting in February or March provides the most runway to get fans in arenas for the most number of games possible.

If that comes to fruition, Warriors All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson -- who tore his left ACL on June 13, 2019 during Game 6 of the NBA Finals vs. the Toronto Raptors -- would have a 20-to-21-month layoff.

"The later it gets, now you're approaching two years for a guy who has not played, which is unprecedented," Golden State assistant coach Mike Brown said Monday morning on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
