In July, when he was hired as Steve Kerr’s lead assistant, Mike Brown appeared done as an NBA head coach. All three of his previous head-coaching stints had ended in firings, including two after no more than 82 games.
Now, as he prepares to shepherd the Warriors into the NBA finals, Brown is back on front offices’ radars. There is a chance that, if Kerr was unable to return to the bench, Brown could replace him as Golden State’s head coach. But if Kerr comes back, Brown may be considered for other teams’ head-coaching vacancies.
