PORTLAND - The trade deadline passed Thursday, but the Warriors still might be able to add a backup big man.
The team is expected to pursue Anderson Varejao, who was acquired by Portland in a three-team deal Thursday and then subsequently waived, and could be interested Roy Hibbert, if the center is cut by the Lakers before March 1.
“I have not been notified of that, but it makes perfect sense, right?” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Friday night when told that ESPN reported the Warriors’ interest in Varejao.
