Warriors lose game, possibly Durant

WASHINGTON — Kevin Durant was walking gingerly to the visiting locker room when he paused momentarily. Flanked by a team security guard and David West, the Warriors’ prized offseason acquisition grimaced and grabbed his left knee before disappearing through the Verizon Center tunnel.

In that instance, less than two minutes into Durant’s annual homecoming game, Golden State wrestled with questions bigger than any single win or loss: How serious is the former NBA MVP’s injury? And if he must miss significant time, how could that affect the Warriors’ title pursuit?

Answers will have to wait until Durant receives the results of his MRI, which could leave Golden State fans in suspense until Wednesday.
