OAKLAND — As they process losing their marquee free agent that presumably would make their path to another NBA title run much smoother, the Warriors are wrestling with two contradictions about DeMarcus Cousins.
After an MRI showed that Cousins has a torn quadricep muscle in his left leg, the Warriors are expecting this marks the end of a three-month tenure playing in their jersey.
“He will not need surgery, but DeMarcus most likely will not be back during the playoffs,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said following practice on Wednesday.
