OAKLAND — Even after three NBA titles, Klay Thompson was restless on the eve of the Warriors’ playoff opener.
“I had the jitters last night,” he said. “I was so excited to be here.”
That Thompson feels jitters — or anything at all, for that matter — came as something as a blockbuster revelation. The stoic guard changes facial expressions about as often as Mt. Rushmore.
But the Warriors sharp-shooter was back at his cool-handed best in a 113-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. Thompson scored a game-high 27 points, on 11-of-13 shooting to help the Warriors set the tone in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series.
