CLEVELAND — Kevin Durant was puzzled when hip-hop music began to thump through the loudspeakers during his first Warriors practice in September. It was a stark contrast from his workouts with the Thunder, where often the only noises were the squeak of sneakers, the bounce of the ball and the bark of on-court directives.
“I’m not used to this,” Durant told assistant coach Mike Brown, who was also new to the team.
Durant’s first season with Golden State has been defined by first experiences. In addition to the Warriors’ laid-back approach, he has adjusted to a supporting cast of All-Stars and more time at power forward.
