The Warriors’ starting center position has been a rotation for much of the second half of the year after Steve Kerr decided to bench Zaza Pachulia.
JaVale McGee initially replaced Zaza in the starting lineup, and the Warriors won seven games in a row (including a win against the Spurs) before Steph Curry injured his ankle and Golden State dropped a couple games.
JaVale returned to the bench after a loss in Minnesota on March 11th, but he made four more starts before the end of the regular season.
I speculated that Zaza Pachulia may be the best fit in the starting lineup against the Spurs because of their tendency to play two bruising bigs.
